Now that we are fully immersed in summer we have been spending our time, from morning till night outside. As a result the knitting and reading has fallen by the wayside. However when the remnants of hurricane Arthur passed over this weekend I felt the need to pick both up again. It needed to be simple though. Enter the yarn harlot with a collection of essays and my first crochet project, a simple striped toddler blanket.

I save all my mason jars from store bought spaghetti sauce to reuse. I use them for sugar, yeast, nuts, raisins etc
But my favourite use for them is refrigerator ice tea. Add two tea bags and cold fresh water to a mason jar, replace lid and put in the fridge overnight. Voila! The next day you have nice cold iced tea for pennies a glass. Add sugar, lemon or leave plain. Whatever your preference. If you have a teenage boy like I do who guzzles drinks like there is no tomorrow than this is a nice replacement for store bought drinks.
